After meeting with my partner, we have decided on the name of our film, the logo we will be using for our production company 'Picture House', and the logo we will be using for our distribution company 'Lights Out'.
Chosen film name:
"Double Ex"
We decided to name our film Double Ex as it gives our audience a clue as to the plot of the film. The film name also has a double meaning. On one hand it states that the film will have two characters which are 'ex's (as in past relationships), but it is also a play on the words 'Triple X', which may suggest mild sexual activity within the film. As well as this, our audience survey agreed with our decision as 57% of users chose the name 'Double Ex' over 'The Ex Ex'.
Chosen Production company logo:
As mention in our previous meeting post, we decided to name our production company 'Picture House'. I came up with the name as I believe it to be quite a fitting name for a studio that produces rom-com films. The name is not genre-specific, so it would allow for production of films with other genres. Myself and my partner agreed to use this logo design (one I created) as it incorporated the symbolism of the 'House', but did so in quite a subtle way. We agreed mixture of serif and sans-serif fonts worked very nicely.
Chosen Distribution company logo:
Again, as mentioned in a previous meeting post, myself and my partner decided to name our distribution company 'Lights Out'. We agreed that we wanted a name that was quite abstract, though not too abstract that it would be difficult to remember. I came up with the idea of naming the company 'Lights Out', as it relates to the screening element of distribution. The phrase 'lights out' can also be connected with the process of the dimming of lights when in a cinema screening. The logo itself was designed by my partner. I created a similar design, but we agreed it wasn't legible when viewed from far away.
